Purpose:
The purpose of the Business In Action Committee is to provide opportunities, address issues, and recognize members relative to the development and promotion of small business.
Goals:
- Host four Business Roundtables in January, March, September, and November.
- Administer the Small Business of the Year Award with three sub-category winners (Business to Business; Business to Consumer; and Charitable, Fraternal, Social and Religious) to be announced at the Membership Breakfast in November and the final winner to be announced at the Charlemagne Dinner.
- Organize and run the annual Paddleboat Mixer.
- Study and discuss possibilities for developing another educational opportunity that supports small businesses and also creates value for all Chamber members.
Some of the events organized by the Business In Action Committee include the Annual Paddleboat Mixer, Business Roundtables, Lunch & Learns, and "Understanding and Managing Your Professional Style" - a Professional Development Workshop and Lunch - which uses the comprehensive and personalized DISC Profile and presents a business program that focuses on improving workplace performance.
